Week before spring break!

Image
Hello families! On Monday, we did a fun craft about our five senses, where we created a face and labeled the different senses. We also had our book fair viewing! The kids had so much fun exploring the books and writing down their wishlists. On Tuesday, we focused on beginning sounds, practicing identifying and matching sounds to letters. We also had our book fair again, it was nice seeing the kids do their own transaction. On Wednesday, we went on our community walk! The kids did an amazing job staying safe as we walked up to Scotsman’s Hill. We split into groups and explored our surroundings, discussing what we saw, touched, smelled, and heard. Afterward, we enjoyed a snack and played at a nearby playground. It was a wonderful experience for everyone! I hope you all enjoy your spring break! Cheers, Ms.Infante

Hello Families! This week was full of exciting learning and hands-on activities! On Monday, we started our day with independent reading, allowing students to choose whether to read at their tables or on the carpet. Then, we wrapped up our Five Senses unit by exploring the sense of taste! The kids had the chance to try foods that were sweet, salty, sour, and bitter. Ask them what their favorite taste was! They had to decide which taste bud was their favourite and majority went for sweet! On Tuesday, we talked about how spring is on its way! We discussed signs of spring and shared what we already know about the season. Students then drew in their journals about one thing they are looking forward to in spring. On Wednesday, we started the day with a fun rhyming and word-blending activity. We also learned how to write the letter K! The students practiced on whiteboards and took turns writing the letter Kk on the Smart Board. In gym, we learned a new game that focused on balance...

Hello Families! This week was full of creativity, learning, and fun! Monday We started the day by drawing our February self-portraits. It’s always amazing to see how much the children’s drawings change and improve each month! After that, we read When I Am Feeling Loved and discussed what makes us feel loved. The students shared heartwarming stories and wrote about their ideas in their journals. For math, we played a fun number recognition game using a bean bag toss—students took turns tossing a bean bag onto a large sheet of paper with numbers and then practiced writing and representing the number with drawings on their whiteboards. Tuesday We had a pizza party! We read Pete the Cat and the Perfect Pizza Party, then created our own pizzas using different shapes. Students had the chance to be creative with their toppings while counting the circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles on their pizzas. We also worked on letter sounds and blending CVC words, helping to build early read...
