Week before spring break!

Hello families! On Monday, we did a fun craft about our five senses, where we created a face and labeled the different senses. We also had our book fair viewing! The kids had so much fun exploring the books and writing down their wishlists.
On Tuesday, we focused on beginning sounds, practicing identifying and matching sounds to letters. We also had our book fair again, it was nice seeing the kids do their own transaction.
On Wednesday, we went on our community walk! The kids did an amazing job staying safe as we walked up to Scotsman’s Hill. We split into groups and explored our surroundings, discussing what we saw, touched, smelled, and heard. Afterward, we enjoyed a snack and played at a nearby playground. It was a wonderful experience for everyone!

This Week in Kindergarten... On Monday, we started the week by introducing our letter of the week—U! We also had a lesson on our five senses, where the kids learned how important they are. We discovered that we use our senses of sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste every day to explore the world around us. In math, we learned a new game called Tug of War, which was a huge hit! The kids had so much fun playing with a partner and are getting really good at recognizing numbers on a die quickly. In gym, we began our gymnastics unit, practicing different balances such as one-point balance, two- and three-point balance, V-sit balance, and bridge balance. We also learned some fun jumps, including pike jumps, star jumps, tuck jumps, and half-turn jumps. Valentines week and assembly week!

Hello Families! Last week was such a blast! We had so many fun and meaningful activities that engaged our kinders in learning and creativity. We kicked off Monday with science, exploring the sense of touch. The kinders investigated balloons filled with different objects—some were soft, hard, bumpy, or smooth. They took turns feeling each one and making guesses about what was inside. The excitement was contagious when we finally opened the balloons to reveal their hidden surprises! On Tuesday, we had a heartfelt discussion about love. We read the book Love Is and shared our thoughts on what love means to each of us. The kinders then expressed their ideas through drawings and sentences, showcasing some truly thoughtful and creative responses. It was wonderful to see their different perspectives on love! Kindness Week in Kindergarten!

Hello families! This week was filled with exciting learning experiences and hands-on activities! Monday: We kicked off the week by introducing the letter Bb! The kids had fun brainstorming words that start with B, such as banana, balloon, and butterfly. We practiced writing the uppercase and lowercase Bb and played a sorting game to differentiate between words that start with B and words that do not. Tuesday: We continued exploring shapes and went on a classroom scavenger hunt! The kids worked in pairs to find and identify different shapes around the room, such as squares on books, circles on clocks, and triangles in decorations. Afterward, we discussed where we see these shapes in the real world. Wednesday: We had a meaningful discussion about Pink Shirt Day, talking about kindness, respect, and standing up for others.
