Just Ask!

Hello Families! This week, we began by reading quietly at our tables on our own. Afterward, we transitioned to the carpet, where we read a book called Just Ask, a story about differences. We had a meaningful discussion about what makes us unique compared to our peers. For example, one child shared that they were born in Ottawa, while another said they have lots of energy and love crafts. We talked about how our differences make us special and how important it is to take pride in who we are, how we look, and where we come from.
In math, we explored patterning. Students demonstrated their understanding of an AB pattern and showed great creativity in their work.
On Tuesday, we continued our patterning activities by starting our very own pattern books! The students enjoyed creating their designs, and we also took advantage of the slightly warmer weather with some outdoor time.
On Wednesday, we focused on the letter N. For our "alphabet soup," we included a nurse, nuts, a net, and more. The class unanimously agreed that this soup should not be eaten! Afterward, we drew pictures of objects that begin with N and practiced printing the letter.
