This Week in kindergarten

Hello families! This week in kindergarten, we kicked things off by introducing the letter "P"! The kids were very excited to explore new words and objects that start with this letter. For our "alphabet soup" this week, we added pumpkin, pears, pickles, and even a pig! The children had a lot of fun with it and unanimously agreed that this week's soup tasted much better than our "T" soup. I was genuinely surprised by how many words they could come up with that begin with "P." Their vocabulary is expanding quickly, and they’re so eager to share what they know!
We also had a special event this week: our class pictures! They were all smiles, and it was a joyful experience for them to capture this memory together. I can't wait to see how the photos turned out—it will be fun to share this little snapshot of our class! Later in the week, we spent some time learning about Remembrance Day and discussed why it's so important to remember the people who made sacrifices to ensure Canada is a safe place for all of us to live. We talked about why it’s important to honor those who came before us and thought about ways we can contribute to making our community a kind and respectful place. This naturally led us to a conversation about kindness. We brainstormed ideas on how we could show kindness to others and keep our community positive and safe. Some of their suggestions included helping clean up, being polite by letting friends go first, listening to each other, and being helpful in the classroom. I was so impressed with their ideas! We also made a rememberance day wreath for our remeberance day assembly that the school had in the morning.
As we wrapped up the week, we dedicated time to practicing our printing skills with the letter "P." The kids did an amazing job focusing on forming each letter. We also made sure to enjoy the fresh air with the beautiful fall weather still here. We went outside, climbed our little hill, and spent some quiet moments listening to nature. The kids were fascinated by the sounds around them, and it was a peaceful way to end our week together.
Overall, it was a fantastic week filled with learning, reflection, and growth. I’m so proud of how much they’re learning and the positive energy they bring every day! Important dates: November.11-13- Fall Break (No school) November.15- AM Kindergarten (no pm kinder) November.22- PM kindergarten has class November.27/28- learning conferences Thank you for all of your support! Best Ms.Infante
