Hello families! This week was filled with exciting learning experiences and hands-on activities! Monday: We kicked off the week by introducing the letter Bb! The kids had fun brainstorming words that start with B, such as banana, balloon, and butterfly. We practiced writing the uppercase and lowercase Bb and played a sorting game to differentiate between words that start with B and words that do not. Tuesday: We continued exploring shapes and went on a classroom scavenger hunt! The kids worked in pairs to find and identify different shapes around the room, such as squares on books, circles on clocks, and triangles in decorations. Afterward, we discussed where we see these shapes in the real world. Wednesday: We had a meaningful discussion about Pink Shirt Day, talking about kindness, respect, and standing up for others. The kids designed their own pink shirts with positive messages and pictures that represent kindness. We also attended a wonderful friendship assembly presente...

Hello Families! Last week was such a blast! We had so many fun and meaningful activities that engaged our kinders in learning and creativity. We kicked off Monday with science, exploring the sense of touch. The kinders investigated balloons filled with different objects—some were soft, hard, bumpy, or smooth. They took turns feeling each one and making guesses about what was inside. The excitement was contagious when we finally opened the balloons to reveal their hidden surprises! On Tuesday, we had a heartfelt discussion about love. We read the book Love Is and shared our thoughts on what love means to each of us. The kinders then expressed their ideas through drawings and sentences, showcasing some truly thoughtful and creative responses. It was wonderful to see their different perspectives on love! Wednesday was all about Valentine’s Day fun! We started the day by decorating bags for our valentines, ensuring they were ready to collect sweet notes from their friends. Then, w...

This Week in Kindergarten... On Monday, we started the week by introducing our letter of the week—U! We also had a lesson on our five senses, where the kids learned how important they are. We discovered that we use our senses of sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste every day to explore the world around us. In math, we learned a new game called Tug of War, which was a huge hit! The kids had so much fun playing with a partner and are getting really good at recognizing numbers on a die quickly. In gym, we began our gymnastics unit, practicing different balances such as one-point balance, two- and three-point balance, V-sit balance, and bridge balance. We also learned some fun jumps, including pike jumps, star jumps, tuck jumps, and half-turn jumps. On Tuesday and Wednesday, we had a guest teacher, and the class practiced writing uppercase and lowercase U. On Thursday, we talked about sharing circles and how important it is to listen to and respect one another. We read the story ...

This Week in Kindergarten... We had a fun and busy week filled with learning, creativity, and exploration! On Monday, we wrapped up our letter C lesson. We opened our Alphabet Soup and found a cake, a cat, candy, and both the uppercase and lowercase Cc! The kids were excited to come up with many more words that start with the letter C. They also practiced identifying and saying the /c/ sound with confidence. On Tuesday, we created snowman art and worked on name recognition by counting the number of letters in our names. Each child wrote their letters on paper snowballs and then assembled them into a snowman! It was wonderful to see their creativity shine as they added their own unique details to their snowmen. On Wednesday, we explored the feeling of being scared as part of our emotional learning. The children shared things that make them feel scared and discussed different ways to manage those feelings. It was a great opportunity for them to express their emotions and build ...
